4th of July Fireworks can be stressful for your furry friends!

Here’s a few tips for keeping your loved ones safe & happy:

Always have id tags (with updated telephone numbers) on your pets and have them pets micro-chipped. These are two easy precautions that will be helpful just in case they do escape during fireworks-they can be returned to you safely.

During the fireworks season, walk dogs during daylight hours and keep cats
and dogs indoors when fireworks are happening.

Keep your dogs and cats dog in a safe and secure environment where they can’t escape when they hear sudden noises/explosions.

Make sure they always have somewhere to hide (if they need to) and they have access to these safe places
at all times.

At dusk, close windows and curtains and put on music to muffle the sound of fireworks.

Have fun out there!!

I will be attending the BarkWorld Expo this weekend (Fri/Sat/Sun, Aug 20-23). It is being held at Atlantic Station in Midtown. I will be offering my pet-care services and meeting new clients!

This event is for pet owners and businesses that utilize social media applications and for those that want to learn more about what pets are doing online and learn how they can be a part of a growing online community.  It will have a social networking agenda, with lectures, workshops, classes, exhibits, demonstrations and all sorts of activities and will showcase pet-related businesses, nonprofits and associations.

Don’t forget the free outdoor showing of the film “Best in Show” on Friday night at 8PM (bring a blanket, picnic basket, and your pets are welcome to attend).  There will also be pet charity fashion show on Sunday from 1-3PM.  Come over and join in the fun!

DogONLYCat copyWell it’s a holiday weekend, and I have tons of furry friends to watch over this weekend, so their parents can skeedaddle and have a little well deserved R&R. I’ll be in my car going from home to home spreading the love to my little (and not so little) charges. We’ll frolic and have a good time, so they don’t miss their families too much!
