Healthy Pets DeKalb Day will be happening on Saturday, Aug 11th (put it on your calendar now).  The event will be at Decatur’s Shoal Creek II Park from 9 am to 2 pm.  The event is sponsored by Fix Georgia Pets and LifeLine Animal Project.

Services offered are: * Free rabies vaccinations for dogs & cats.* Free canine distemper/parvo shots for dogs. * Free feline distemper vaccinations for cats. * Over 200 vouchers for free spay or neuter surgeries for pets at one of LifeLine’s Spay & Neuter Clinics.  Veterinarians will be on site to administer all vaccines.  Shoal Creek II Park is located at 3643 Glenwood Road in Decatur.

Pre-registration for pets is not required. Vaccinations and vouchers for free spay/neuter are given on a first come, first served basis. LifeLine staff requests that pet owners bring dogs on a leash and that cats be safely contained in a carrier.

February is National Spay/Neuter Awareness Month and there are so many things to be excited about!

All around the country (and the globe) animal advocates are preparing to celebrate this month with helpful, thoughtful,  money saving assistance for our furry friends.

The 3rd annual Boxerstock music festival will be held on Sunday, October 24 from 12-7pm at Jim Miller Park in Marietta to benefit Atlanta Boxer Rescue. This is a family-friendly, dog-friendly event. Boxerstock features some of Atlanta’s top musical acts plus family entertainment and fun!  Also, they are offering reduced fee micro-chipping services for your pets, pet-related products and a silent auction. Tickets are $10, with a discount for children, students & military personnel.

The Atlanta Humane Society is hosting the 1st annual Fur Fest on Saturday, October 9th.  Hours: 11-4.  There will be lots of fun activities for adults, kids, and pets!

There’s something for everyone at this free event, and of particular interest are two great deals: micro-chipping for $10 and rabies shots for $10.

Well-behaved pets are encouraged to accompany you just remember to keep your pet on a leash at all times.

Atlanta Humane Society is at 981 Howell Mill Road.  (Free parking available in the 10Side parking facility, located on the corner of 10th and Northside Drive)

“Indie Market at Manchester Street” will be hosted at the amazing Habersham Gardens in Atlanta, GA.  Come over on Sat, Oct 2nd from 10A to 6PM.  There will be 15 artists & crafters set-up outside in the garden center located at 2067 Manchester St (off Cheshire Bridge). This is an American Craft Week event!

Each artist is donating a portion of their sales to a great organization Pets Are Loving Support (PALS). PALS provides pet-care including free food and basic veterinary care, and support to the companion pets of critically ill and disabled Atlantans. PALS will be on site hosting a BAKE SALE to raise additional funds http://www.palsatlanta.org

The Yumbii Food Truck will make an appearance from 1-3p, so all you foodies can enjoy a great lunch!  And don’t forget to shop all the incredible new plant materials available for your gardening pleasure! It will be a day of big FUN!

I hope you can make it out this Sat (May 1st) for the Pet Parade in Piedmont Park. It is the Atlanta Humane Society’s largest fundraising event and all proceeds directly benefit the shelter’s homeless animals. Lots of fun activities…I’ll have a booth there (along with with Big Daddy Biscuits) and would love to see you! The event is from 9AM-1PM.
